New Opportunities to Teach English in Madagascar

News, TEFL

We are delighted to share some positive news about the travel situation into Madagascar. Following recent governmental meetings in Madagascar, it has been announced that the border will open for Air France and Air Madagascar flights from Europe from 6th November, as well as charter flights from Italy.

The opening will be phased, with flight routes from Mauritius and Réunion expected to be opened up from around 23rd October. Frequency of flights will be limited initially to no more than one landing every five hours. Arrivals will be subject to PCR testing and a short 1–2-day period of quarantine until a negative test result is confirmed (extended to 14 days in the case of a positive test). These PCR tests on arrival will cost 25 Euros, to be included in the price of flight tickets.

Madagascar's borders have been closed for 20 months since March 2019, so today's announcement is extremely welcome news for the struggling tourism sector and the wider country as a whole.
