    FAQs

    For major cities, the housing is usually provided and western style. The one-room studio and the slightly more expensive condo apartment are the two main types. Furnishing varies, however the standard is a king size bed, wardrobe, dining table and chairs, work desk and chair, coffee table, and sofa. A flat-screen television and a washer are standard in most apartments. A single person flat costs between 2500 and 3800 rmb per month on average. To rent your own apartment, you typically need to put down a two-month deposit.

    Yes! In addition to the free Mandarin lessons, teachers are welcome to attend a weekly training and social gathering. There is a presentation that focuses on improving aspects of teaching such as pacing, lesson planning, presentation for appropriate student age level, etc. Teachers are invited to participate in discussions, ask questions, and share their knowledge! Our instructors' quality of life in the city will be improved by learning about Chinese culture, norms, and other relevant information. It's a fantastic place to learn, grow, and meet new people!

    Yes, there are regular outings for company English teachers in China. You can explore many of Guangdong Province's cultural sites and attractions like the China Folk Culture Village and Dapeng Ancient City. Learn about Chinese festivals and customs such as the Spring Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival. Visit Yang Mei Keng Beach or Lianhua Mountain, both of which are tranquil, beautiful spots outside of the city (for those teaching in Shenzhen).

    A bachelor's degree, a TEFL certificate, a valid passport from a native English-speaking country, and a criminal background check are all required to legally work in China.
