We are looking for teaching assistants who have worked with teenagers who speak a variety of languages to work in the EAL department of secondary schools in Manchester.
Overview of the EAL, TEFL job
- Working with small groups of pupils with varied levels of English comprehension and knowledge, ranging from youngsters who have some English fluency to those who have just arrived in the UK and have no English language skills.
- Collaboration with the Heads of EAL and English, as well as the SENCO.
- Working with pupils 1:1 on speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills.
- Adapting materials to meet the needs of children who have extra learning demands in addition to English.
- English graduates as well as TEFL and ESOL professionals are encouraged to apply.

What qualifications are required for EAL, TEFL teachers?
To join us and succeed as an EAL Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Experience teaching or assisting groups of teenagers aged 11 to 16 in a school or college setting, as well as other similar settings such as Youth Centers, places of Worship, supplemental schools etc.
- TEFL / CELTA qualification beneficial
- Excellent communicator with strong understanding of the English language
- Live within commutable distance of Manchester
- Immediate availability
