Put your TEFL course to use and teach in Thailand with SINE

Sine Education Service provides English conversation courses for government schools throughout Thailand.

Through our specially designed courses, delivered by Sine trained teachers, we focus on addressing the challenges that come with delivering English language programmes – particularly to large groups. These courses have been created to make learning as enjoyable and rewarding as possible.

Sine Education has been steadily increasing since its inception in 2010, thanks to the success of our courses. There were only 13 teachers to facilitate the three schools with which we had partnered at the time. We are currently collaborating with 52 schools in Bangkok, central Thailand, and the country's north east.

FAQs

SINE has been in business since 2010, with a headquarters in central Bangkok and 40 partner schools primarily in Bangkok and the country's rural north east.

No. SINE Education provides everything a teacher requires. We prepare all of the lessons and have our teachers present them using PowerPoint. For each lesson, all teachers receive a complete set of teacher notes. SINE Education creates all of the tests. SINE Education provides all student books. Teachers are given a remote control ‘clicker' that allows them to control the PowerPoint from anywhere in the classroom, as well as everything else they require.

In May or October, all new SINE teachers attend a training course in central Bangkok. This course will thoroughly prepare you to teach the SINE programmes as well as provide you an overview of life in Thailand and working in a Thai government school.

SINE management, academic team members, operations team members, IT team members, and sales team members all often visit SINE partner schools and will provide any assistance our instructors require. At least once per semester, SINE English teachers are watched in the classroom, and any further support or training is provided at that time. Every SINE partner school has a SINE coordinator who serves as a liaison between the SINE English team and the school administration.

People from many walks of life can teach English in Thailand. They are all native English speakers with a bachelor's degree from the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, or South Africa. Some of the people who have joined us have never taught before, while others have taught for years in their native countries or overseas. Some are students starting their first work following graduation, while others are seeking for a second job. Some want to do it for a year, while others have retired early but still want to do something meaningful with their lives. Our teaching staff is diverse, which we value. They all have the potential to provide a dynamic environment for young Thai learners.

All SINE English conversation teachers begin with a monthly remuneration of 33,000 Thai Baht. On the final working day of each month, your salary is deposited directly into your bank account. At training, we assist new instructors in opening bank accounts. Teachers in the greater Bangkok area are additionally given a monthly allowance of 2,000 Thai Baht. If you teach over 24 hours per week, such as covering courses for a colleague who is ill, you will be paid 300 Thai Baht for each additional hour. You will earn a 20,000 Thai Baht completion incentive at the end of a full 10-month term.

In general, accommodation in Thailand is inexpensive, depending on the level of service you require. For instance, central Bangkok can be inexpensive, but the sky is the limit. Prices range from 4,500thb per month to 8,000thb per month, depending on the region and proximity to the BTS (Skytrain). Prices in the countryside are slightly lower, starting at 3,500thb per month. However, the closer you are to a metropolis, the more expensive it is. We will give you with a guide to some accommodations in the area where you will be stationed during your recruiting stage with SINE education.

Our FTA (Foreign Teacher Administration) team will handle your work permit and all visa difficulties. At your training, you will meet a member of the team who will inquire about your current visa and offer guidance on any concerns you may have. The process of obtaining a work permit might take up to four months or longer, depending on the local authority and the school, so don't be concerned if it appears to be taking too long. Our FTA team will walk you through the entire process, holding your hand as needed!
