Teaching English in Vietnam Program
We’re offering well-paid English teaching positions the length and breadth of Vietnam. Positions are available in both government and privately owned primary and secondary schools – and English Language Centres.
Our ideal candidate is someone who is professionally-minded, culturally sympathetic, adaptable and easy to get along with. While experience as an English language teacher is valued, it is not a core requirement for placement in our partner school network in Vietnam.

TEFL UK, in collaboration with local partners, has established a sizable partner school network across Southeast Asia, especially in Vietnam and Cambodia. Right now, there are 157 English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching positions that we’re seeking to fill on behalf of our partner schools, with new jobs being added daily. All positions will be filled via our Teaching Jobs Abroad Programme, that provides a safe, secure and fully supported pathway to teaching English abroad.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- TESOL, TEFL or CELTA
- Clear background (criminal record) check
- Able to pass a basic health check

- 6 hours of observation classes (actual classes with an emphasis on variety)
- 8 hours of teaching practice (actual classes with an emphasis on variety – the first 6 hours are critically assessed)
- Interactive cultural immersion workshop conducted by local staff
- Interactive employment workshop conducted by AVSE’s designated Job Placement Administrator
- Interactive job interview workshop
- Job placement in a partner school post programme
- Post-programme support – guidance with long-term accommodation, career pathways, visa issues, employment contracts and a lot more
Dates and Details
- Arrive to Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi with arrival groups available every month
- Full-time teaching load is considered to be 20-30 classroom hours a week
- Minimum one day off each week
- Foreign ESL teachers in Vietnam typically earn US $1,200 to US $2,000 (net) per month
- Savings capacity is around 50% of your earnings
- Paid holiday arrangements vary from school to school
- Start a great job between day 9 and 14 after arrival!
- Stay for 6 / 12 months
