FAQs
-
We hire teachers all year round, and you can start whenever you like. In Korea, there are numerous private school teaching positions accessible in all towns and cities.
-
This is virtually always the case. Because there is such a strong demand for fluent English speakers, many private schools in Korea employ multiple international teachers. For some of the larger schools in large metropolitan districts, you may be working with a large team of foreign instructors. Alternatively, in more rural locations, some schools only recruit one or two foreign teachers.
-
Yes, there is a meet and greet service for new English teachers in Korea. You can expect to be welcomed at the airport and transported to your host town or city.
-
Depending on the age of the pupils, classes could last anywhere from 40 to 60 minutes. In most cases, younger kids receive shorter classes.
-
In Korea, private schools normally operate in one of two shifts. For younger students (Kindergarten and Primary), morning/afternoon classes are available; for older students, afternoon/evening classes are available (Primary, Middle School and Adults).
-
Because teaching jobs in Korea are in high demand, it's vital to make sure your visa documents are in the works before you begin your application. Many institutions look for teachers who are at least underway with their document preparation. If you have an apostilled police check and apostilled degree to hand when you apply, the process will go much faster. However, TEFLUK is always available to discuss the required documents in greater detail, so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!
